Today, I am going to discuss about the suggestions of higher secondary exam 2023 in philosophy subject of West Bengal higher secondary education.                                    40 Marks.

1.What do you mean by proposition and distribution of terms in categorical propositions? Mention the terms that are distributed in A, E,I and O propositions.2+2+4=8

What do you mean by the categorical proposition? Classify categorical propositions according to quality and quantity? Discuss with an example different parts of a categorical proposition. 2+4+2=8 

2. What is immediate inference? Explain with example the distinction between mediate and immediate inference? 2+6=8

What is conversion? State the rules of conversion with example. Why simple conversion of A proposition is not possible? 2+4+2=8 

3. Transform the following arguments into standard logical forms and mention their moods and figures. Test the validity of each arguments:4+4=8 

i. No fish is bird; because fish is not reptile and no reptile is bird.

v. Kolkata is within India. Dubai is not within India. Therefore Dubai is not within Kolkata.

vi. God has created man, man has created sin Therefore God has created man.

vii. Socrates is a man. Plato is not Socrates. Therefore plato is not a man.

viii. All that glitters is not gold, diamond is not gold. So diamond does not glitter.

ix. He is not wise person. For, he is not a good orator. Only wise people are good orator.

x. No poet is immortal, for any poet is a man and man is not immortal.

vii. Taking necessary condition as a whole cause.
